The program is designed for Non English Speaking Background (NESB) learners. It is designed to introduce learners to English needed for job search skills. The program seeks to build on an English level of 5.5 to 6.0 IELTS by developing English vocabulary and grammar structures needed for participating in entry into the workforce. Due to restricted length of time some 6 hours of independent learning is included as well as providing help to access further vocational pathways for employment opportunities. The program would include 6 modules of 4hours of lessons each day, with 1 hour of self-directed learning and / or group discussion associated with the lessons. Each student will compile a personal portfolio for use in applying for employment with an employment agency. Each module would include the four language macro-skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing. MODULE ONE - Resume and Covering Letter Construction.
